Summary

A piece of road and a few parking spaces made of recycled plastic have recently been opened at schiphol taxi. schiphol taxi, together with PlasticRoad, PreZero and VolkerWessels Infra schiphol taxi, constructed this close to the Kaagbaantunnel. The road and parking spaces are made from recycled plastic waste from the airport. By the end of the year, another piece of plastic road pavement will be built next to a runway. The two locations are part of a test that should show whether this technique will be a good alternative to standard asphalt and concrete roads in the future and to improve water drainage and buffering. If so, it will contribute to a more sustainable infrastructure at the airport.
