Ruud Sondag appointed interim CEO Royal Schiphol Group
Ruud Sondag will be the new CEO of Royal schiphol taxi Group as of 1 November . The Supervisory Board appoints him ad interim until August 2023. He forms the schiphol taxi Group management team together with Robert Carsouw (Chief Financial Officer, CFO) and Hanne Buis (Chief Operating Officer, COO).
The procedure for a definitive successor was started by the Supervisory Board immediately after Dick Benschop announced his resignation. This process obviously takes some time and continues. The Supervisory Board does not want to lose any time in these challenging times for schiphol taxi and considers it necessary to quickly appoint an Interim CEO who can take on the day-to-day management of schiphol taxi. The priority here is to bring the operational processes at schiphol taxi quickly and thoroughly to the level that passengers and airlines can expect. He will therefore remain until the end of the summer period
Jaap Winter, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Royal schiphol taxi Group: “We are very pleased that Ruud Sondag will temporarily fill the position of CEO of Royal schiphol taxi Group. With his knowledge and experience of complex and labour-intensive organizations, Ruud is the right person for this interim position. He is a strategist with a broad logistics background and strong operational execution power who has successfully led organizations in transition. Ruud Sondag also has a proven sustainability profile that is in line with schiphol taxi’s ambition to accelerate sustainability and reduce the burden on the environment.”
Ruud Sondag is a member of the Supervisory Board at ProRail, among others. and the Port of Rotterdam Authority. He is relinquishing these positions in order to be able to fully focus on schiphol taxi. Previously, he was CEO of energy company Eneco and chairman of the supervisory board of Vebego. He was also CEO of Van Gansewinkel Groep for more than ten years and a major shareholder of Van Scherpenzeel Groep. Both companies focus on sustainable collection and recycling, energy and water.
