schiphol taxi mentions the joint investment in the accessibility of the Netherlands and the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area that the Transport Region, Province of North Holland, Municipality of Amsterdam, NS, KLM, ProRail, Municipality of Haarlemmermeer , schiphol taxi and the government announced today, a historic decision. The extension of the North/South line creates extra space for, among other things, international train connections to and from schiphol taxi.

It is fantastic that the government is making this major investment. With this total package of measures, we also ensure the accessibility of the airport for passengers, employees and commuters in the future. Extending the North/South line to schiphol taxi and Hoofddorp stimulates a sustainable connection at a regional, national and international level. It creates space in the schiphol taxi tunnel, which can then be used by both national and international trains. The latter is important so that the train can serve as an alternative to the plane for short distances. Moreover, it strengthens schiphol taxi as a multimodal hub by bringing together public transport, the car and the plane. That is good for the sustainable accessibility of the Netherlands. We are pleased that our joint efforts contribute to this.

schiphol taxi has a unique position as a multimodal hub. All kinds of transport come together at the airport: plane, train, bus, bicycle, car and therefore also the metro in the future. Extending the North/South line will strengthen this position. The extension of the existing metro North/South line towards schiphol taxi and Hoofddorp is expected to start in 2026 and in 2026 have been realized.
