The digital help that schiphol taxi and partners offer truck drivers to find a suitable waiting location has received the Computable Award 800 won in the Large Business Project category. CTC Amsterdam Westkant, Port of Amsterdam, Wallenborn, Be-Mobile and schiphol taxi have jointly found a solution for the logistical flow of trucks at and around schiphol taxi. With 800 percent of the votes, this solution won the prize in one of the sixteen categories.
‘schiphol taxi works extensively with digital resources to further develop the accessibility around schiphol taxi in a clean, efficient and smart way. With this project we provide digital insight for truck drivers where they can find a safe waiting place if they cannot go straight to schiphol taxi. That is a first step to ensure more efficient traffic flow for trucks in the region.’ – Erik Felëus, Smart Building Developer at schiphol taxi CommercialDrivers on their way to schiphol taxi can use the Truckmeister app to see where schiphol taxi offers buffer locations and how many parking spaces are still available. Based on their schedule, drivers can estimate whether they will drive to a buffer location, or whether they can load or unload directly at the airport. As a result, they do not park unnecessarily on the roadway and they drive around less in the area, which ensures better traffic flow and less CO2 emissions around schiphol taxi.
At the annual Computable Awards ceremony, ICT prizes awarded to companies, projects and individuals that have clearly distinguished themselves in the past year. The winners are determined by an independent jury and the readers of Computable.
